Bryan has broken multiple stories involving athletic and sexual assault scandals with the Baltimore Post-Examiner. He also covered Annapolis with Maryland Reporter during the 2016 legislative session. In March 2015, Bryan received a confidential tip that five seasoned female University of Maryland Baltimore County Lacrosse players had been writing threatening text messages about their younger teammates who had been given more playing time. Following receipt of the messages Baltimore Post-Examiner published the story, which was featured internationally. Bryan was interviewed by ABC’s Good Morning America about the scandal as well as a local radio station. People Magazine was included among the many publications that carried the story. In October 2015, Bryan uncovered and subsequently broke a story documenting UMBC’s omission of a sexual assault on their daily crime log. In August 2016, Bryan broke a related story stating UMBC had become the target of a federal investigation due to a complaint related to the handling of an alleged sexual assault. Since June Bryan has been covering Congress for Talk Media News and has become a familiar face around Capitol Hill. He reports on House Speaker Paul Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s weekly press conferences as well as prescient hearings. He interviewed Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and former senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.) in the spin room at Hofstra University following the first 2016 presidential debate. Bryan interviewed Clinton campaign spokesperson Karen Finney, Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas.) and former governor Jim Gilmore (R-Va.) in the spin room at Longwood University following the 2016 Vice Presidential debate. He has covered pool duty at the White House and has attended departure and arrival ceremonies on the South Lawn. Bryan previously worked in the insurance industry and also as a copywriter for a financial publication. He began writing about politics in 2014 and in his spare time enjoys reading about Watergate and World War II. Bryan is from rural Baltimore County and now lives in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Bryan has a B.A. in Political Science from McDaniel College.
