Senate approves motion to go to conference on tax reform bill

WASHINGTON – The Senate on Wednesday approved a motion to join the House in a joint conference committee to iron out differences in a tax reform bill both chambers passed.

The upper chamber approved the motion in a 51-47 vote.

The House approved its conference motion on Monday.

Republicans are hoping to have the tax reform bill signed into law by Christmas.
