WASHINGTON (Talk Media News) – Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in Texas by 8 percent, according to a University of Texas/Texas Politics Project poll released Monday.
The poll found that Trump leads in the Lone Star state by 41 percent while Clinton comes in with 33 percent. 19 percent said that they would prefer to a vote for another candidate and 8 percent said that they have not decided.
Texas has been a reliable Republican stronghold in presidential races. In 2012, Romney won the state by about 16 percent.
The poll found that when Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is added to the mix, he nets 7 percent, Trump receives 39 percent and Clinton follows with 32 percent.
The poll was conducted among 1,200 Texas voters between June 10 and 19. There is a margin of error of +/- 2.83 percent.
