WASHINGTON (Talk Media News) — Campaign aides for Donald Trump shut down an interview with his son, Donald Trump Jr., after questions about the Trump Foundation were raised.

According to a video posted of the interview with WTAE in Pennsylvania by BuzzFeed News, which has since been removed, Trump Jr. was asked about his involvement with the foundation that has come under fire for questionable spending of donor funds for personal uses.

“You’re a director of the Trump Foundation charity, did you sign off on charity money for a portrait?” Trump Jr. was asked.

“No, I don’t know anything about that,” he responded.

Before the interviewer was able to ask anything more on the subject, an aide cut off the interview, saying that “we have to move on to the next one.”

The Trump Foundation is under investigation for potential tax violations after an investigation by the Washington Post uncovered purchases from charitable funds that ranged from a 6-foot-tall painting of Donald Trump to a potentially illegal campaign contribution to the current attorney general of Florida.

Earlier in the day, Trump Jr. said he didn’t see the point in his father releasing his tax returns, saying that Trump has “a 12,000-page tax return that would create … financial auditors out of every person in the country asking questions that would distract from (his father’s) main message.”
