WASHINGTON- The House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday voted to advance the tax reform bill Republican lawmakers crafted in conjunction with the Trump Administration.
The committee approved the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in a 24-16 vote.
Markup began on Monday and since that time contentious debate ensued as members debated numerous amendments.
A floor vote is expected as early as next week.
Also on Thursday, key provisions of the Senate version of the tax reform bill began to leak out, revealing contrasts on state and local tax deductions as well as other issues.
