WASHINGTON – Republican congressional leaders are scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump and members of the administration this weekend at Camp David, according to media reports.
The Capitol Hill participants at the presidential retreat are said to include House Speaker Paul Ryan (Wis.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (La.) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (Texas).
Topics of discussion reportedly will include items on the 2018 legislative agenda such as a a comprehensive infrastructure bill, a DACA fix, plans to stabilize the health insurance market, defense appropriations, and the crafting a FY 2019 budget.
The government will run out of money at 11:59:59 p.m. on Jan. 19 if Congress does not approve a budget or a temporary spending bill.
The meeting also will focus on GOP prospects for the 2018 mid-term elections.
