Pelosi and Trump trade barbs, covering the cost of infrastructure, upcoming budget deal

Capitol Hill – Trading barbs with the president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tweeted:

More to the point, Pelosi reiterated in her weekly news conference:

(Audio: Pelosi says “Dems are not on a path to impeachment.”)

And:

(Audio: Pelosi stated her goals for infrastructure.)

Pelosi then said:

(Audio: Pelosi says she ardentlys pray for the president.)

Pelosi said Trump was ill-prepared for their meeting:

(Audio: “I can only think that he wasn’t up to the task of figuring out the difficult choices of how to cover the cost.” She continued, “He was not prepared, and so he used some excuse to go out the door.”)

Trump took issue with Pelosi’s account of their stalled meeting on infrastructure funding and her characterization of his character. He replied:

(Audio: “I was extremely calm yesterday with my meeting with Pelosi and Schumer, knowing that they would say I was raging, which they always do, along with their partner, the Fake News Media.”)

Then calling her “Crazy Nancy,” he continued:

(“I’ve been watching her for a long time. She’s not the same person; she’s lost it. I think she has a lot of problems.”)

Looking forward, as Congress enters negotiations with the president on a two-year budget agreement, Pelosi said of her budgeting priorities:

(Audio: Pelosi says budgeting is not a partisan issue and we need to get it done.)
