A 66-member, U.S.-led coalition conducted seven airstrikes in Syria and 15 strikes in Iraq against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) targets on April 27.

Washington (Talk Media News) – A 66-member, U.S.-led coalition conducted seven airstrikes in Syria and 15 strikes in Iraq against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) targets on April 27.

U.S. defense officials define a strike as one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative, effect.

As of 4:59 p.m. EST Apr. 26, according to the U.S. Department of Defense, the coalition has conducted 11,876 strikes — 8,067 in Iraq and 3,809 in Syria.

Aside from the U.S., countries that have participated in these strikes include:

  • In Iraq: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, The Netherlands and UK
  • In Syria: Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Jordan, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia,  Turkey, UAE and UK
