U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the General Assembly that he's pained to see leaders "stoke resentment in search of electoral gain."

Last week, UM formed the Joint President/Senate Inclusion & Respect Task Force, with faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students and alumni, to build tolerance and combat hate incidents.

The council said it is planning rallies outside the Supreme Court and across the country Oct. 10, when the high court hears oral arguments on the travel ban.

"The secretary believes that no further escalatory action is necessary at this point and we look forward to trying to forge ahead," said State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert.

The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Monday to enact additional sanctions and strengthen existing ones against the isolated country following its sixth and largest nuclear test to date on Sept. 2.

The amendment is one of over 300 filed to the NDAA, and would need 60 votes from the Senate to make it into the higher chamber's version of the bill

Trump is asking Congress to do the hard work of legislating all by themselves.
