Trump touts progress on the opioid crisis

THE WHITE HOUSE — As President Donald Trump boarded Marine One Wednesday morning to address the 2019 Rx Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit in Atlanta and tout progress on the opioid crises, he announced:

In Atlanta, Trump spoke of 16,000 prison inmates who are getting treatment. He said:

“Criminal justice reform — I have to say — people are getting out of prison. Because our economy is doing so well, perhaps the best it’s ever been in our history…because of this, prisoners getting out are signing in, they’re getting jobs.”
