WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that the leadership at the FBI and Justice Department “politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans.”

The president’s claim comes shortly before the expected release of a memo compiled by House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes’ office purporting partisan abuse of surveillance methods amid the special counsel’s probe into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

The White House is expected to approve the public release of the memo on Friday, going against objections from the FBI.

In a rare statement released Wednesday, the bureau expressed “grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”

The memo was approved for release by the House Intelligence Committee on Monday via a party line vote, with Democrats opposing it on similar grounds to the FBI.

According to CNN, Trump has told friends that he believes the memo will undermine Mueller’s probe.
