Former French politician Marion Le Pen offered up her family’s unique brand of right-wing nationalism in front of American conservatives on Thursday, telling activists at the yearly CPAC gathering that French conservatives are taking inspiration from Donald Trump:

“You have succeeded in putting conservatism right back on the top of the political agenda. Let us build on what you have achieved here so that on both sides on the Atlantic, a conservative agenda may prevail.”

Le Pen also used her speech to warn of the dangers of accepting large numbers of immigrants, saying France was transitioning from being “the eldest daughter of the Catholic Church” to the “little niece of Islam.”

Marion Le Pen’s aunt, Marine Le Pen, stood in presidential elections last year, losing by a two-to-one margin to Emmanuel Macron.
